Our Projects
The Trust is always embarking on new projects that aim to conserve and enhance the heritage of Montserrat. We express our thanks to the many volunteers and agencies that have supported us in the past to complete projects which have been of benefit to the island.
Some of the most notable projects we have managed in the past include: The Bird Sancutuary in Foxes Bay Building of the Woodlands Beach Hut Cutting of Hiking Trails in the Centre Hills and Silver Hills Archaeological Survey in Galloways Trants and Little Bay Restoration of the Galloways Plantation Conservation of the Oriole Setting up of a museum in the Old Sugar Mill on Richmond Hill Beach and Roadside cleanups
Our on-going projects are the Conservation of Archives, the establishment of the Botanic Gardens and the Archaeological Survey of the Heritage Site in Little Bay leading to its restoration. Plans are in progress for the upgrading of the Woodlands Beach Facility. Other projects are in the pipeline awaiting funding. As these projects come on stream we will continue to update you on this website. | | Volunteers assisting with the setup of the Botanical Gardens |
